This Saturday, May 8th, is the second annual AMBC Poker Ride.Â AMBC (Appalachain Mountain Bike Club) is the local mountain bike club, and they’re responsible for constructing and maintaining many of the biking and hiking trails around Knoxville. Â The ride starts at noon at the Bearden Earth Fare and you must finish by 5pm.Â At each check point you’ll get a playing card and the best 7 hands win a prize.Â Also, with a $5 donation to the club you enter to win a Kona Humu-humu-nuku-nuku-apua’a!Â The Humu is the ultimate single speed cruiser- fast, fun, and with its super wide handlebars, it is the ultimate curb-jumper.

Bike Class – TVB will be hosting a women-only bicycle repair class on May 12th.Â Topics will start with changing tubes and tires and how to perform a simple safety check on your own bike.Â Remember to bring those helmets and lights, so you can ride to the class!

So, this is Knoxville’s longest running and possibly most premier alley cat race of all.Â Get ready for the most fun you’ll ever have with this end all event.Â Its true that a normal life is hard to live after this day of fun but support is available.Â Bring everyone you know.Â Prizes range from fastest to best test scores to people we think deserve something nice in the middle of winter.Â Brats from the great north via Usinger’s will be a buck at the finish.Â Rock and roll music from BIG BAD OVEN at the party following.Â Don’t be scared and don’t be square, we’ll see you at the start!
